Multi-purpose apple high in Vitamin C, excellent for fresh eating, cooking and cider making.
Originated as a seedling on Herman Chaplin’s Farm in East Bloomfield, New York (near Rochester) around 1800. In 1852, the American Pomological Society listed the Northern Spy as a variety worthy of general cultivation. By the early 1900's, the Northern Spy was one of the most popular and coveted apples in our country.
